Centrillion Biosciences is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to assist in the development of innovative packaging and assembly for our medical devices.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
• Work under a Senior Engineer as part of a team driving products through their lifecycle including concept generation, prototyping, component and device assembly, testing and breadboard.
• Help generate creative solutions to design problems and demonstrate their feasibility by considering factors such as risk, reliability, manufacturability.
• Assist the Senior Engineer and other members of the Engineering Team in transitioning concepts into products using solid modeling tools, defining requirements, selecting materials and processes.
• Assist in request for quoting duties, interacting with suppliers and manufacturers, and documenting the development process.
• Help implement root cause analysis, design failure modes to root cause, and help develop quick, effective solutions
• Coordinate with others in a multi-disciplinary team environment including electrical, mechanical, chemistry, laboratory software, industrial design, and controls.
• Help in verification and validation activities through prototype testing and requirement verification
• Assist in assembling, testing and maintaining in-house assembly and packaging systems
• B.S. in mechanical engineering or associate degree in mechanical engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience is preferred, preferably in a medical device environment.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and be able to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Solid Works Software is desirable.
• Some hands-on experience on fast prototyping tools, additive manufacturing and/or 3D printing is a plus.
• Experience in machine shop practices, practical use of tools, and ability to do machining and construction of fixtures and breadboard instruments is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary team environment is a must.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented, highly motivated, and focused on results.
