As an Associate Investigator on the Trust & Safety team, you are the first line of defense in maintaining the integrity of the Peerspace marketplace. You will be responsible for investigating suspicious activity, mitigating financial risk, and ensuring our community remains a safe environment for both hosts and guests. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, resilience, and a deep commitment to operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage high volumes of inquiries within Intercom, providing clear, concise, and professional communication to users with an eye for process improvements
• Review sign-up, login, and transaction fraud triggers, identifying and blocking fraudulent platform behavior
• Conduct investigations to detect suspicious activity, including reviews of identity and payment verification sessions
• Review user content to ensure compliance with community guidelines and our Terms of Service and maintain platform integrity
• Process and manage global data deletion requests
• Research and document complex chargeback disputes
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Operations, or Customer Support.
• Strong analytical skills, high emotional resilience, and the ability to adapt to evolving fraud trends.
• Exceptional written communication skills with a focus on objectivity and clarity.
• Passionate about helping to make the Internet a safer, more trustworthy place
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Energized by investigating issues
• Have a sense of humor and enjoy working with others
• Schedule - 4 week rotation:
• Weeks 1-3:
• Monday - Friday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)
• Week 4:
• Monday & Tuesday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)
• Wednesday & Thursday; OFF
• Friday - Sunday; 8 hours/day (hours flexible depending on time zone)
• Bonus points:
• Proficient in Google Sheets
• Proficiency with Stripe and Intercom (or similar CRM/Payment platforms)
• Prior experience using Forter, Sift, or other automated fraud detection tools.
• Experience handling marketplace-specific disputes.
The hourly rate for this role is $26.00/hour.
