Position Overview
The Event Associate is the operational backbone of GLG’s virtual event delivery. Sitting within the Events Marketing & Operations team and based in India, this role provides real-time technical and logistical support during live Remote Roundtables, Teleconferences, and Webcasts, serving as the first line of response for clients and GLG Network Members during events. The Associate also supports conference Remote Roundtables and owns event data entry and post-event quality assurance, ensuring every event meets GLG’s standards for accuracy, professionalism, and client experience.
This is an excellent entry point for someone who is detail-oriented, technically comfortable, and energized by fast-paced, live environments. The role offers direct exposure to GLG’s global clients and Experts, hands-on experience with enterprise event platforms, and a clear pathway into broader event operations and programming work.
Overall Values
We seek bright, positive, and flexible people who also:
• Act with the highest integrity and professionalism in all their endeavors
• Stay calm, composed, and solutions-oriented under pressure
• Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Express a strong desire to work in a team
• Respond effectively to management direction and clients’ needs
• Demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
Key Responsibilities
Live Event Support (primary focus):
• Serve as the real-time point of contact during live Remote Roundtables, Teleconferences, and Webcasts, monitoring each event from start to finish and resolving issues on the fly
• Act as production host on virtual events — admitting attendees, managing speaker hand-offs, starting and stopping recordings, and overseeing core technical operations
• Manage a shared inbox of live client RSVPs, dial-in requests, access issues, and technical troubleshooting requests during event hours, triaging and responding with urgency
• Troubleshoot common platform issues (audio, video, connectivity, access links, dial-in problems) for clients and Network Members in real time, escalating appropriately when needed
• Support conference Remote Roundtables by coordinating with onsite teams, confirming Network Member readiness, and ensuring seamless virtual-to-onsite integration
Event Data Entry & Quality Assurance:
• Own accurate, timely data entry for events across GLG’s internal systems, including event setup, attendee records, speaker details, and post-event status updates
• Conduct post-event quality checks on attendance data, recordings, and transcripts
• Manage post-event reconciliation and payment processing for GLG Network Members
• Flag data discrepancies or systemic issues to Events leadership and help drive resolution
Process & Documentation:
• Maintain and improve internal runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures for live event support
• Contribute to continuous improvement of event delivery processes by surfacing recurring issues and suggesting practical fixes
Collaboration:
• Partner closely with AMER and EMEA Events team members, Production Specialists, and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent event execution across regions
• Communicate professionally with clients and Network Members via email and on live calls, representing GLG’s service standards at every touchpoint
Required Skills
Potential candidates must possess:
• Bachelor’s degree, equivalent experience, or certification(s) in a related field
• 0–2 years of post-undergraduate experience in a client-facing, operations, event support, or customer service role
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new platforms quickly — prior exposure to Zoom Webinars, GlobalMeet, Twilio, Microsoft Teams, or similar is a plus
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working in event management systems
• Proven ability to stay calm, organized, and responsive during high-pressure live events
• Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills — able to monitor multiple concurrent events and inboxes without losing the thread
• Willingness and availability to work shift hours that align with AMER and/or EMEA event schedules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Outlook
• A service mindset — genuinely motivated by helping clients and teammates have a great experience
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Prior experience supporting virtual events, webinars, or live broadcasts
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
• Experience working across time zones with distributed, global teams
