The Role
We are looking for an Associate Director or Manager to join our Private Markets team, leading the delivery of high-quality advice and analysis for investors, asset managers, and portfolio companies operating in complex political and regulatory environments.
Flint Associate Directors and Managers play a central role in our work - running project teams, shaping client advice, and supporting business development. You will work on commercially and politically significant issues that affect investment strategy, transactions, and asset performance across both private and public markets.
You will advise clients including private equity, hedge funds, institutional investors, and financial institutions, helping them understand and respond to policy, regulatory, and political developments. This may include work related to due diligence, market entry, regulatory risk assessment, and long-term strategic positioning.
You will also play a hands-on role in managing junior colleagues, sharing expertise, and maintaining high standards of analysis and client delivery across projects. At Associate Director level, this role includes a greater focus on client leadership and business development.
Experience working with investors, transactions, or market-facing strategy is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Project delivery: Lead the day-to-day delivery of client work, providing clear, commercially focused advice informed by political, policy, regulatory, and market developments.
Investor-focused analysis: Assess how policy, regulatory change, and political risk affect investment strategy, transactions, valuations, and asset performance across private and public markets.
Transaction & due diligence support: Contribute to and, where relevant, lead political &/or regulatory due diligence, market assessments, and regulatory risk analysis in support of transactions and investment decisions.
Business development: Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients and contribute to proposals, pitches, and thought leadership relevant to investors and market-facing clients.
Client management: Support and help manage client relationships, contribute to strategic discussions with senior stakeholders, and identify opportunities to deepen and extend client impact.
Team leadership: Manage and develop junior colleagues, delegate effectively, provide feedback, and ensure consistently high standards of analysis and written output.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates with 4+ years’ experience in areas such as private equity, private credit, public markets, transaction advisory, commercial due diligence, or strategy consulting. This may include experience gained in a consultancy, investment firm, financial institution, or in-house strategy or corporate development role.
This role is well suited to a strategy consulting profile at Manager or Associate Director level, with strong commercial instincts and an interest in how policy, regulation, and politics shape investment outcomes.
You should be able to demonstrate (essential criteria):
A strong understanding of private and/or public markets, including how political, regulatory, and macroeconomic factors influence investment decisions and asset performance.
Experience working on or alongside transactions, commercial due diligence, market entry, or strategic investment analysis.
The ability to assess policy and regulatory risk and translate complex external developments into clear implications for investors and corporates.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering clear, concise, and decision-relevant advice.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence engaging with senior clients and stakeholders.
Experience leading workstreams or project teams and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
High levels of personal drive, strong organisation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
