Built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs, we understand what it takes to grow a successful business – and we’re here to help our customers do just that. That’s why thousands of scaling companies across the UK trust us not just as their bank, but as a long-term partner in growth.
We have been an established lender for 10+ years and now want to drive business deposit growth to accelerate our lending efforts. We’re now looking for an Associate Director to help drive growth in our Business Deposit Book. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in our commercial growth strategy – working directly with founders, CFOs, and finance teams to help provide them a better return on their deposits and build a relationship to support their business.
What you’ll do:
Deposit Growth:
• Originate and convert new deposit opportunities from established and high-growth Businesses.
• Utilise your existing network of businesses and introducers and also be proactive for new opportunities through outbound calls and emails, converting referrals and attending events.
• Share your knowledge of Commercial Banking to identify new areas of the market for OakNorth to target.
• Work cross functionally with other relevant business departments by communicating valuable customer feedback and helping shape the future strategy of OakNorth Business Banking.
What we’re looking for:
Experience and knowledge:
• At least 3-5 years of experience in Business or Commercial banking, ideally in roles with a deposit focus.
• An established network within high-growth and mid-sized businesses and associated introducers for these customers.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales KPIs
Skills and Attributes:
• Comfortable in a sales-first environment and confident engaging senior stakeholders, including decision-makers and founders
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• A start-up mindset: coachable, adaptable, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and within deadlines
Why join OakNorth
• Work in the newest and fastest growing business unit in a successful bank.
• Influence the growth and direction of Business Banking through your personal contribution
• Competitive salary, benefits and opportunities for career growth.
• Strong OTE structure to be rewarded for performance growth.
What makes working here better:
• Hybrid role
• 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, alongside enhanced family leave allowances.
• Competitive salary and equity, giving you a meaningful stake in the success of the business.
• Regular team and company socials, including informal breakfasts and dinners at OakNorth.
• Access to cycle-to-work and electric vehicle schemes.
