About Position / Position Summary

BGS IT Business Partner team is looking for an Associate Data Engineer who can work independently to gather requirements as and when needed. Lead API Development, Data migration using ETL/ADF or other means. Develop business logic as needed for developing and consuming API services. Support SQL query creation for complex business functionalities. Support / Lead with Domain Data Architect for data pipeline methods / service in support of additional data types from the Data Strategy. Support Solution Architects / Data Architecture in solution design for the service layer for APIs and Data Services for Analytics.

This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years related to Data Engineer.
• Lead: Work independently to gather requirements.
• Lead: API Development, Data migration using ETL/ADF or other means.
• Lead: Develop business logic as needed for developing and consuming API services
• Lead: SQL query creation for complex business functionalities
• Support / Lead: With Domain Data Architect for data pipeline methods / service in support of additional data types from the Data Strategy
• Support: With Solution Architects / Data Architecture support solution design for the service layer for APIs and Data Services for Analytics
• Strong hands-on experience with data engineering using Apache Spark [2.4+, 3.1+] & Scala [2.11+] (or Java 11+), Spark SQL, Tuning Spark ETL jobs etc.
• Strong analytical skills in decoding/collecting the requirements independently.
• Experience in understanding & writing complex sql queries is a must.
• Should be proficient with Databases like SQLServer: MS-SQL/T-SQL, Teradata[16.10+] or similar.
• General awareness of other Databases like ANSI SQL.
• Source control systems to manage code and repositories [Git/Mercurial]
• Experience using continuous integration/deployment tools to continually tweak and deploy code [GitLab-CI other distributed, stateless CI systems]

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working with Data Warehouses AND/OR Data Lakes.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 4 Plus years of related work experience or master’s degree with 4 plus years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
