Associate Attorney - General Liability

We are seeking an Associate Attorney in Miami, FL with a salary range of $95,000–$130,000 per year, based on experience. This full-time position requires 2–4 years of experience in General Liability defense within a litigation-focused law firm. The Associate Attorney will join an established national defense firm with a strong General Liability Practice Group serving clients throughout Miami, FL. This role is based in Miami and involves active courtroom participation, case management, and strategic defense of general liability matters across the Miami legal market. Candidates must be licensed in Florida and ready to manage litigation files from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a caseload of general liability defense matters in Miami, FL, including premises liability, medical malpractice, HOA, assisted living, and long-term care claims.
• Review and summarize medical records and case documentation to support defense strategy.
• Draft motions, including motions for summary judgment, and argue hearings in Miami courts.
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests and discovery-related motions.
• Prepare initial case evaluations, interim reports, pre-trial reports, and trial-related filings.
• Represent clients at mediations, arbitrations, court appearances, and trial proceedings in Miami.
• Manage cases proactively to move matters efficiently through the litigation process.

Requirements:
• 2–4 years of experience in General Liability defense litigation.
• Active admission to the Florida Bar (required).
• Experience defending premises liability, medical malpractice, or related claims preferred.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to draft complex motions and legal pleadings.
• Experience taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
