About the role
We are looking for an Associate AI Engineer — an early-career, hands-on contributor who supports the development of AI-enabled software systems used in production environments. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, focusing on implementing scoped features, fixing defects, and improving workflows using existing AI capabilities. This is not a research role and not a model-training role; instead, it emphasizes practical AI implementation, reliability, and maintainability under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement well-scoped AI-assisted features and supporting services in production codebases under guidance.
• Fix defects and improve reliability of AI-enabled components, prompts, and workflow logic.
• Integrate AI APIs, LLMs, and orchestration tools into existing applications following established standards.
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain documentation for delivered changes.
• Use AI tools responsibly for coding assistance, debugging, test generation, and documentation.
• Follow team guidance for safe AI usage, including data handling, prompt hygiene, and fallback behaviors.
• Contribute small automations and internal tools that improve engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to deliver assigned work items end-to-end.
• Communicate progress, risks, and questions proactively and incorporate feedback quickly.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions (as a learner), and team ceremonies.
• Ensure changes meet standards for security, performance, and maintainability.
• Add basic observability (logging, metrics) and follow incident and bug-resolution processes.
• Build foundational knowledge of applied AI patterns, including prompting basics, orchestration concepts, evaluation methods, and failure modes.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands on 1-3 years of experience required
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including debugging, version control, and testing.
• Exposure to applied AI in software, such as LLM usage, AI APIs, automation, or orchestration tools.
• Ability to deliver small-to-medium scoped tasks reliably with guidance and feedback.
• Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with modern development stacks, cloud fundamentals, and CI/CD is a plus.
• Basic understanding of AI output evaluation, including quality checks and regression validation, is preferred.
• Experience contributing to SaaS or enterprise software environments is an advantage.
