We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Security Manager to support our Security team at Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre. In this role, you will assist in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel assets. You will help oversee daily security operations, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with safety standards in alignment with Sofitel brand values.
Job Description
• Assist the Security Manager in overseeing daily security operations and team deployment
• Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property at all times
• Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and guest concerns with professionalism and efficiency
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of hotel premises, including public areas, back-of-house, and perimeter
• Monitor CCTV systems and security equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Support the implementation of safety, fire, and emergency procedures
• Assist in conducting investigations of incidents, accidents, and security breaches
• Coordinate with local authorities when necessary
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation of daily activities, incidents, and security logs
• Provide training and guidance to security staff to maintain high standards of performance
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards
• Promote a secure, welcoming, and professional environment for guests and staff
• Diploma or Degree in Security Management, or related field
• Proven experience in hotel security, law enforcement, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of security procedures, risk assessment, and emergency response
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and security technology
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick, effective decisions
• Strong report writing and documentation skills
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• High level of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism
• Certification in security or safety training is an advantage
