MatPel Builders is a premier general contractor based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We specialize in architecturally significant, high-end residential construction, including custom mountain estates, complex remodels, and detailed renovations. We are seeking a Assistant Project Manager to join our Wyoming team. This role supports the Project Managers with the performance and operations of assigned projects. Success of the APM is measured by how well the project documentation is accurate, organized and delivered in a timely fashion. The APM is consistently working to track, bring order and manage documentation that is critical to the construction workflow.
Main Responsibilities
PROJECT SET-UP
- Collect all project information (project directory, budget, schedule, submittal log, plans and specifications) from estimating department and work closely with PM to process information appropriately.
DOCUMENT CONTROL
- Accurately track and process project documents, including but not limited to submittals, change orders, RFI's, schedule and budget updates.
SUBMITTALS
- Collect, evaluate, and transmit submittals ensuring performance and prescriptive requirements are met.
PAYMENT APPLICATIONS
- Assist in reviewing project cost data on draft invoices in preparation for project managers to finalize and send payment applications to client.
CLOSEOUT
- Compile closeout materials: as-built drawings, back stock inventory, owners' manual; and provide to Client/Design Team as appropriate. Participate in project post completion meeting with project team to review successes and challenges on the project and provide quantitative feedback related to performance as compared to the original budget.
Required Experience, Traits & Skills
• A minimum of one-year experience in high-end residential construction project management.
• College degree preferred but not required if industry-specific professional experience makes up for it.
• Experience managing multiple projects under $500K and/or single large projects up to $20M.
• Understand and decipher legal contract language, code, and technical construction technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam is required
• Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand technical documents.
• Highly organized, energetic, focused, and detail oriented.
• Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a 'can do' attitude, dedicated to the success of the team.
• Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Fast learner, with the ability to learn new software with ease.
• Highly resourceful problem solver.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills: verbal, written, and visual.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Poised and mature attitude, always remaining calm under pressure.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to work in both office and active construction site settings
Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods, with intermittent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions including heat, cold, and exposure to dust or airborne particles
Must be able to safely navigate ladders, stairs, and uneven job site terrain
