Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an Assistant Program Director for a premier Nursing Program in Sacramento, CA.
Reporting to the Administrative Nursing Director and the Chief Academic Officer, this role is a hybrid of academic leadership and frontline instruction. You will be responsible for the site-level supervision, planning, and evaluation of nursing program activities, ensuring total alignment with BVNPT (Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians) requirements. This is a high-visibility leadership seat for an RN who is passionate about workforce development and possesses the administrative rigor to manage faculty, clinical contracts, and state-level regulatory reporting.
Job Responsibilities
• Program Governance: Plan, develop, and evaluate program curriculum and activities to ensure clinical and academic excellence.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for state surveys and BVNPT site visits; ensure mandatory 10-day reporting for faculty terminations.
• Clinical Partnership Management: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with clinical sites; evaluate facilities for safety, staffing levels, and educational objectives.
• Faculty Leadership: Recruit, hire, and orient new faculty members; manage the complex scheduling of faculty across courses and clinical sites.
• Admissions & Orientation: Oversee the student admissions lifecycle and lead orientation programs to ensure high student retention and engagement.
• Instructional Oversight: Monitor classroom and clinical instruction, leading curriculum reviews and strategic planning sessions to improve outcomes.
• Active Instruction: Maintain a 50% teaching load, delivering high-quality nursing education while modeling best practices for faculty.
• Compliance Stewardship: Stay current on all California Vocational Nursing (VN) regulations and verify that all graduation and licensing requirements are met.
• Advisory Collaboration: Plan and implement Advisory Committee meetings to align the nursing program with modern healthcare industry needs.
Requirements:
Education & Licensing (Mandatory)
• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License is REQUIRED.
• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
• Completed coursework in Administration, Teaching, or Curriculum Development.
Experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of RN experience is REQUIRED.
• Leadership/Education Threshold: Must have 1 year of teaching or supervision experience within the last 5 years OR 3 years of experience in Nursing Administration/Education.
• Proven ability to manage complex clinical contracts and state-level regulatory requirements.
Skills & Abilities
• Deep knowledge of California BVNPT regulations and nursing school accreditation standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage faculty schedules and clinical site rotations simultaneously.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with state surveyors, faculty, and clinical partners.
