The Opportunity
The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP) invites applications for one tenure-track appointment in School/Applied Child Psychology (SACP) at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The SACP program includes both an MA and PhD program accredited by both the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and a PsyD. program undergoing accreditation with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). The Applicant
The successful candidate is expected to produced high-impact research and scholarship consistent with a research-intensive university, with a plan for securing external funding, and a record of teaching, graduate- level research and clinical supervision. A doctoral degree in School, Child Psychology or equivalent (CPA- or APA-accredited program preferred) is required and a professional identity and/or research program that aligns with the tenets of School Psychology is preferred. We are especially interested in applicants with research and clinical skills to prepare professionals and researchers in the field of School Psychology. Given our program’s scientist-practitioner model, this position requires eligibility for licensure with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). Note: applicants who would need to transfer a license from another jurisdiction would need to meet French-language requirements for OPQ licensure.
The research area is open within the field of School Psychology. We seek candidates with expertise in applying research to clinical practice in diverse and interdisciplinary environments.
Special interest areas include one or more of the following:
• assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and/or adolescents, ideally in contexts that address diversity and culture in School Psychology, applying a sociocultural framework to practice and research; recognizing how cultural norms can influence / affect assessment and intervention practices and learning/ mental health outcomes, etc.
Priority will be given to candidates who:
• currently licenced in Quebec / members of the OPQ, or
• within one year of hire, demonstrate appropriate oral and written knowledge of the French language, in accordance with the Québec Professional Code and the Charter of the French Language, and meet other equivalency requirements (e.g., transfer of licence).
• have graduated from a School Psychology or related Doctoral Program (e.g., Clinical (Child, Applied Child, Neuropsychology, etc.) with research and clinical interests with development populations (e.g., children, adolescents, etc.)
The successful candidate will teach at the graduate level, supervise master’s level and doctoral students, and actively contribute to program-related activities.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with university guidelines.
