Assistant Professor of PPHS

POSITION: the Department of Professional Programs in Human Services in the College of Liberal Arts 
and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in 
Criminal Justice, beginning in August 2026. 
 
DUTIES: The successful candidate will teach courses in Criminal Justice, including courses in law 
enforcement, criminal investigation, police administration, and other aspects of criminal justice. Candidates 
with training and/or experience in forensics are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will 
teach on-campus and online courses for a rapidly-growing program, as well as develop and maintain 
relationships with various organizations in the Criminal Justice field. 
The standard teaching load is a 4/4. Other responsibilities include advising, serving the university and 
community, and maintaining an active research agenda. East Central University is an equal opportunity

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely-related field preferred; ABD in one of the 
specified areas required.
