POSITION: the Department of Professional Programs in Human Services in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Human Services Counseling, beginning in August 2026.
DUTIES: The successful candidate will teach Counseling and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Human Services Counseling undergraduate program is an online program that primarily provides asynchronous web courses for concentrations in Counseling and Rehabilitation. The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling offers courses that are delivered through a synchronous web format. Both programs are experiencing significant growth.
The standard teaching load is a 4/4 with potential opportunities to teach in the summer. Other responsibilities include advising, serving the university and community, and maintaining an active research agenda. East Central University is an equal opportunity employer.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Counseling or a closely-related field preferred; ABD required.
