About the role

The Lecturer or Assistant Professor will support innovation and excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement within Finance and Business Analytics and linked to the rapidly evolving FinTech sector, directly supporting the school’s mission to develop globally-minded and socially responsible leaders. The Lecturer or Assistant Professor will contribute to the School’s research profile and to governance and service activities that contribute to the School’s mission. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research, teaching, and community and industry engagement in a collegiate environment.

The Lecturer or Assistant Professor will work closely with the Dean of Academic Programs and other stakeholders to cultivate a vibrant and supportive learning environment.

This position provides a platform to influence the future of financial technology education and practice. As part of an AACSB-accredited institution, the role demands a commitment to curriculum excellence, student success, and impactful industry engagement.

About The Candidate

Essential:                

Possession of a relevant Doctoral qualification or in the advanced stages of research towards a Doctoral qualification (Lecturer position only).

Teaching experience in Finance or Business Analytics with expertise in Financial Technology (FinTech) or related areas.

Strong foundational knowledge of Finance or Business Analytics.

Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues,

Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the field such as a record of scholarly learning and teaching including innovative curriculum design, teaching pedagogies, and/or positive engagement with community, industry, government,

Demonstrated research expertise, including but not limited to literature review, qualitative and quantitative research, and publications in high-quality academic journals. Demonstrated contribution to Governance and Service activity both within the University and external bodies (eg professional associations).

Fluency in English (both spoken and written).

Desirable:

Ability to travel to UOW Dubai and/or UOW Australia,

Ability to work outside of business hours to teach if required.

Strong foundational knowledge in FinTech, including emerging technologies such as blockchain, AI-driven finance, and digital banking. In-depth knowledge of Functional Programming, particularly Python and it’s application in Financial Technology and Analytics.

Fluent in or working knowledge of Hindi or Gujarati.
