The Assistant Plant Controller is responsible for supporting the Plant Controller in  overseeing accounting operations and internal controls within the plant(s), ensuring the accuracy of and compliance across all financial reporting. This role supports the management of daily accounting functions, assists in preparing and analyzing financial statements, and supports the plant’s leadership team with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis and management. The Assistant Plant Controller serves as a key business partner to the Plant Controller as well as operations, driving insights that improve financial performance and efficiency.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Support the management plant financial reporting, including monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assists in the preparation of accurate and timely balance sheets, income statements, and related financial schedules.
• Supports compliance with US GAAP, enterprise policies, and internal control requirements.
• Supports the maintenance of SOX documentation and coordination of testing activities with internal and external auditors.
• Supports the oversight of the accuracy of inventory valuation, cost standards, and capital expenditures.
• Leads the coordinate of Accenture GBS/Operations Analysts to ensure plant support activities are monitored and executed appropriately, escalates when activities are not meeting expectations
Cost & Budget Management
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and rolling estimates.
• Support operations with the analysis of cost drivers, productivity trends, and efficiency initiatives.
• Drive monitoring standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and cost improvement projects.
• Support Enterprise objectives at the plant level - Economic Profit/Spread, TOE, Fit 2 Win, etc. 
• Support the operations teams with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives with financial analysis.
• Assist in the management of plant fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and physical inventories.
Business Partnership
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager, Plant Controller and plant functional leaders to interpret financial results and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the connection between the plant and Country group finance teams.
• Support the Plant Controller in the presentation of monthly performance summaries to plant and country group leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 -4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
• Sound understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis, and manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
What we offer at O-I: 
Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between$80,000 - $95,000 and includes a possible quarterly incentive bonus.    Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
