Assistant Manager of Trucking Operations

The Assistant Manager of Trucking Operations will be responsible for the supervision of central dispatch and coordinating material hauling orders through the utilization of contracted owner/operators.  Responsible for processing orders from internal plants to fulfill material needs. Also responsible for other third-party trucking deliveries for internal and external company material deliveries. This position requires a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

·         Supervising dispatch staff

·         Scheduling material deliveries for external and internal customers

·         Validating orders with production needs in internal tracking system

·         Communicating with contractors and third-party carriers

·         Supporting the Operations Manager in daily responsibilities

·         Reporting and communicating safety issues to proper personnel

·         Coordinating and attending regular safety meetings with contractors

·         Ability to inspect contractor equipment

·         Assist Operations Manager with recruitment of new contractors

·         Operate as a liaison to internal and external customers

Requirements

·         10 years prior experience in logistics/trucking industry preferred

·         In-Office work environment, remote work not available

·         Fluent in Spanish required
