Assistant Manager - Direct Tax

JioStar is seeking a tax professional to support income tax advisory and compliance for our India-based and international group entities. The role involves assisting the team in managing corporate tax matters including advisory support, handling tax audits (including tax and transfer pricing audits), tax return filings, and overseeing tax litigation processes for multiple group companies across India and offshore jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities::
• Manage corporate tax compliances such as Tax audit, TP audit, tax return filings, etc. for India and offshore entities.
• Manage past litigation with close co-ordination with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain adequate documentary support for defending new tax positions as well as Interco transactions.
• Prepare deferred tax accounting workings and ensure tax assets/liabilities are appropriately recorded.
• Advisory assistance on international tax issues such as Cross Border Transactions, DTAA aspects, Withholding Tax, Permanent Establishments, Foreign Company Strategies, etc.
• Conducting research for taxation matters and providing opinion from Tax POV.
• Review of deals and partnering with stakeholders to achieve optimal tax efficiencies.
• Undertake research on new tax issues and keep abreast of latest technical developments.
• Preparing monthly MIS reports.
• Implement technology tools in tax function.

Preferred Education and Experience::
• Chartered Accountant
• Post qualification experience - 3-4 years
• Expert knowledge of Indian Income Tax and TP regulations
• Interface with tax authorities at various levels of hierarchy is a must
• Experience of handling tax issues for media clients will be added advantage
• Strong analytical skills
