Assistant Manager - Business Intelligence (BI)

The Assistant Manager – Business Intelligence is responsible for owning and overseeing BI deliverables across Tableau and Power BI platforms. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, BI developers, and leadership, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and timely delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions. The role includes hands-on contribution as well as delivery oversight, standards enforcement, and mentoring. Overall, experience managing typical commercial pharma/bio-tech deployments is key for success in this role. This is a consultative, client-facing position + team lead and employee development.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own end-to-end delivery of BI solutions across Tableau and Power BI projects
• Oversee planning, execution, and quality of BI deliverables across multiple workstreams
• Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions and clear technical specifications
• Review and validate Tableau and Power BI dashboards for accuracy, performance, usability, and visual standards
• Establish and enforce BI development standards, QC checklists, and best practices
• Act as primary point of contact for BI delivery status, risks, and dependencies
• Support sprint planning, estimations, and delivery timelines for BI initiatives
• Mentor and guide BI developers on Tableau, Power BI, DAX, SQL, and data modeling best practices
• Perform hands-on development for complex dashboards, calculations, and data models when required
• Coordinate UAT, production deployments, and post-release validation
• Partner with data engineering and IT teams to resolve data issues and performance bottlenecks
• Ensure documentation, data definitions, and dashboard logic are maintained
• Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and advanced analytics
• Communicate effectively with business, product, and leadership stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
• 9 to 12 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics
• Strong hands-on expertise in both Tableau and Power BI and any experience with Sigma is welcomed
• GenBI experience if possible
• Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling in Power BI
• Advanced Tableau skills including LOD expressions, parameters, actions, and performance tuning
• Strong SQL skills with experience in complex queries and optimization
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI architecture
• Experience overseeing BI deliverables or leading small BI teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
