ASSISTANT FOREMAN CIVIL
JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:
The Assistant Foreman under supervision from the Civil Foreman will assist in supervising crews in completing Heavy Highway Construction jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the supervisor with the day-to-day operations of Civil crews, including scheduling and assigning duties,
Assist in maintaining safety procedures and report conditions,
Assist in monitoring the subcontractors and their projects,
Assist with making sure each job site work is completed to ensure we are in compliance with project specifications and standards,
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment,
Assist with managing each employee’s attendance and work ethic,
Communicate with crew effectively and respectfully,
Acts on behalf of the Civil Foreman in their absence,
May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends,
Additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Two years of construction management experience,
Valid driver’s license,
Knowledge of construction and maintenance practices,
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines,
Ability to plan, layout and supervise the work of others,
Exceptional customer service skills, including resolving complaints and/or concerns,
Must be able to complete OSHA 10 training.
Ability to read drawing, plans and blueprints,
Ability to effectively communicate,
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,
This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and the constant use of hands and arms,
This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (e.g., glasses, contact lenses),
Performing strenuous work for extended periods in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and other inclement weather conditions,
Work may be performed in environments with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and moving equipment.
*Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
