Assistant Estimator (Commercial Electrical)

FZ is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is focused on serving customers throughout Michigan, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.   

FZ is looking for an entry-level, Assistant Estimator for the Charleston, SC office. This role will assist in the development of timely and accurate bid estimates. This individual will also develop an understanding of business components and implications specific to estimating and cost control. Under close supervision, the Associate Estimator supports Senior Estimators and/or Estimators in the estimate preparation process for assigned projects.

Seeker of Information.  You have a genuine desire to grow in your electrical and estimating knowledge. You don't wait for information to come to you. You go after what you need, gathering accurate information is part of your workday. You are willing to do jobsite walk-throughs, call vendors, and attend review meetings to gather information to ensure accuracy of quotes.

Key Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or equivalent - required; Bachelor's degree in relatable subject - preferred. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) - required; Accubid and/or Bluebeam experience - preferred.

Electrical and/or construction experience (reading blueprints, etc.) - strongly preferred. 

Strong mathematical, organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Highly detail oriented.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. 

Passion for continuous learning.

Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
