Job Description: ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
IONIC DIGITAL, a digital infrastructure company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller
Assistant Controller to lead key general ledger and close processes, ensuring accurate and
timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. This role will drive process
improvements and NetSuite optimization, support SEC filings, manage audit coordination,
uphold SOX compliance, and develop a high-performing accounting team while strengthening
the company’s overall financial controls and reporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
● General Ledger & Accruals: Managing all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring
proper application of US GAAP (e.g., construction in progress, impairment and fair value,
revenue). Assist in designing and implementing operational processes around key
technical accounting matters to ensure they are documented accurately and incorporate
the necessary controls.
● Financial Close Management: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to US GAAP. Oversee the
consolidation of financial statements, accruals, manual journal entries, key account
reconciliations, and variance analyses. Lead efforts to accelerate the financial close
process, through automation and streamlined reconciliations.
● SOX Compliance & Internal Controls: Work with the Internal Controls Manager to
ensure accuracy of process flows, risks and controls. Assist in maintaining internal
control documentation to ensure compliance with public company requirements and
safeguarding company assets.
● Systems & Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvements in accounting
processes, policies, and systems. Leverage NetSuite ERP to optimize workflows,
reporting, and internal controls.
● SEC Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of external filings, including Forms
10-K and 10-Q.
● External Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly
reviews and annual audits.
● Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the Accounting Manager and staff
accountants.

Required Qualifications and Experience
● 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience in a SOX‐compliant or
public‐company environment
● Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing multiple priorities in a
high-growth company.
● Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
● Prior involvement in system implementation, optimization or migrations is
desirable
● Construction, data center industry experience valuable.
● Public accounting firm experience a plus
● Pre-IPO and fast-close transformations experience is a plus
