Community Services for Children is hiring Assistant Classroom Teachers for the Head Start and Pre-K Counts programs. We are looking for caring and warm team members, experienced with preschool-aged children, ready to help us make a difference in the lives of little learners and their families.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the daily care of every enrolled child by following all program regulations and guidelines.

Plan with and assist the lead teacher in preparing learning materials for activities appropriate for preschool age (3-5 years of age) children.

Assist the lead teacher in planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment, including serving nutritional meals for children.

Share in the development and implementation of written lesson plans with the lead teacher.

Accompany bus drivers during transportation to ensure the safety of all children.

Collaborate with parents to ensure a positive educational experience for each child. 

Perform other duties assigned by Lead Teacher.

 Job Requirements:

GED or High School Diploma, and must have or
obtain CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education within two years of hire. 

Experience working with young children.

Reliable transportation.

Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

All CSC team members are required to complete their state and federal clearances prior to start. Some roles require also a physical and TB exam.

Assistant Teachers are an important part of our education team and provide critical support to our program. These positions can assist one or more classrooms, and/or offer coverage. Some roles may require travel throughout the Lehigh Valley but each is required to have, or earn, their CDA or Associates in ECE within two years of hire. CSC will cover the cost of your CDA and help you through the process.
