Job Description
Whom are we looking for?
At Ampowr, Asset Management serves as the critical bridge between our installed-base assets and our customers. As an Asset Manager, you represent a pivotal shift in accountability: once a project is commissioned, ownership transitions from Sales and the Project Management Office (PMO) directly to you. From that moment until the end of the asset's lifecycle, you are the definitive owner of its success.
You will act as the primary point of contact for the customer, balancing commercial acumen with technical oversight to ensure our energy storage systems operate at peak performance, remain fully compliant, and deliver on their commercial promise.
What it take you to be successful in this role:
Customer & Commercial Ownership
Act as Primary Customer Liaison: Serve as the first point of contact and ultimate accountability owner for installed-base customers, fostering strong, long-term operational relationships.
Manage Escalations: Act as the first line of defense and primary contact for the customer during operational escalations, ensuring swift and transparent resolution.
Contract & SLA Management: Ensure all service and maintenance agreements are actively in place. Manage contract amendments, renewals, and meticulous evaluation of technical performance against contractual KPIs, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and revenue models.
Engage Key Stakeholders: Provide transparent asset-related reporting, performance insights, and technical support to a wide array of stakeholders, including customers, insurers, and financial partners.
2. Technical Asset Management & Performance
Ensure Asset Integrity: Maintain overall responsibility for the technical integrity and health of all asset components, including BESS, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Battery Management Units (BMUs), HVAC, and filtration systems.
Deploy Field Service (FS): Work in close coordination with the Field Service team, ensuring that FS engineers are efficiently and effectively deployed for on-site maintenance and troubleshooting.
Optimise Asset Performance: Monitor, analyse, and continuously improve the technical performance, uptime availability, and degradation profiles of the BESS assets.
Lead Technical Investigations: Spearhead reliability analyses, Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), Root Cause Analyses (RCA), and technical investigations for any operational anomalies or underperformance.
3. Maintenance Strategy & Lifecycle Management
Own the Maintenance Program: Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive maintenance program, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and proactive asset replacement planning.
Drive Cost & Risk Optimisation: Continuously optimise maintenance and repair strategies to maximise system performance, minimise operational costs, and mitigate technical risks.
Manage the Asset Lifecycle: Develop and execute long-term asset lifecycle strategies, spanning preventive maintenance, system upgrades, component replacement, and end-of-life decommissioning.
4. Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee the safe, reliable, and compliant performance of all assets in strict accordance with relevant laws, industry regulations, safety standards, certification requirements, and local permits.
Identify & Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify and manage technical, operational, and commercial risks across the asset portfolio.
Drive Process Professionalisation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ampowr's asset management processes, digital dashboards, and reporting structures to support the rapid scaling of the organisation.
Requirements & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical asset management, operations, or a highly relevant engineering/commercial role—preferably within energy storage (BESS), renewables, or critical infrastructure.
Full professional proficiency in both Dutch and English (spoken and written).
Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong background in customer-facing roles with a proven ability to manage expectations, handle escalations gracefully, and communicate complex technical issues to commercial stakeholders.
Contractual Acumen: Experience managing SLAs, O&M contracts, and navigating contract amendments.
Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with the technical components of energy systems and the ability to confidently lead root cause analyses and reliability investigations.
