Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an Asset Accountant for a top Financial Services client in Williamsville, NY.
This is a high-growth "ground floor" opportunity within a stable, reputable organization that actively promotes from within. The Asset Accountant serves as a critical member of the accounting team, managing the lifecycle of fixed assets and supporting capital project tracking. This role is designed for a detail-driven professional who seeks long-term stability and a clear trajectory into senior auditing or specialized accounting departments.
Job Responsibilities
• Fixed Asset Management: Maintain and manage all fixed asset accounts, including complex setups, transfers, and depreciation schedules.
• Transaction Oversight: Review and audit fixed asset financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
• Capital Projects: Create and analyze accounting entries tied to various capital projects and oversee detailed project cost tracking.
• Financial Reporting: Handle regulatory reporting requirements and perform complex reconciliations.
• Process Improvement: Participate in special projects to streamline asset accounting workflows and improve data integrity.
• Collaboration: Support the broader finance team with detailed analytical data for budgeting and long-term financial planning.
Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is REQUIRED.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is MANDATORY (Official transcripts will be requested).
Experience
• Minimum of five (5) or more years of professional accounting experience is required.
• Proven track record of professional stability; candidates with frequent job changes ("job hoppers") will not be considered.
• Background in fixed asset accounting, budgeting, or SOX compliance is highly preferred.
Skills
• Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
• Advanced Excel expertise and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-centric environment.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar enterprise-level platforms is a significant plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and technical communication skills.
