General Description of Position: The Asphalt Raker plays a key role in road construction and paving operations. This position is responsible for spreading, leveling, and smoothing hot asphalt to ensure a safe, durable, and high-quality finished surface.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Spread, rake, and level hot asphalt to proper grade and thickness

Assist with asphalt paving operations alongside paving crews and equipment operators

Check for proper depth, grade, and drainage to meet project specifications

Smooth and shape asphalt using hand tools to ensure a uniform finish

Work around heavy equipment including pavers, rollers, and trucks safely

Follow directions from foreman/supervisor to meet daily production goals

Perform general labor duties such as shoveling, sweeping, and site cleanup

Identify and correct surface imperfections during paving process

Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times

Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Specific Equipment and Materials to be used: Operate power vibrator to compact concrete, pneumatic chisel, saws, power grinder and hand tools
