Byrne & Jones Construction—Nashville Asphalt & Concrete has the expertise, manpower, and necessary equipment to provide premium commercial paving services in Nashville, Tennessee. Based in St. Louis, MO, Byrne & Jones Construction is the number one commercial asphalt paving company in the St. Louis metro area. We're also one of the Midwest's largest builders of athletic fields.
Byrne & Jones is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to perform highly complex and difficult construction and maintenance work by operating various types of heavy equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Operates a variety of heavy equipment, such as pavers, excavators, skid steers, dozers, derricks, pile drivers, to accomplish difficult or highly complex tasks
Pre-job planning with the project manager
Mobilization of crew truck and job trailer
Conduct and participate in safe working environments, including daily huddles, job safety assessments, toolbox talks, and stretching program
Coordination of material deliveries
Use production and job cost tracking software to track progress and schedule
Ability to communicate effectively with owner/architect/engineer
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience operating construction equipment
Valid driver’s license
CDL license preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment
Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme heat and cold
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
