Objective:
This position is responsible for serving as an interpreter for a hearing impaired student. The position works with a multidisciplinary team to share beauty, fashion and wellness.
Responsibilities: To effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and English.To follow the classroom schedule and interpret for student(s) as needed.To interpret in sign language all activities in the classroom and on clinic floor, including but not limited to:
lectures, conversations, films, special projects, assemblies, etc.
To be available on a need basis for school functions outside the classroom.
To participate as a part of the instructional team and be able to interpret directions and assist in providing continuity of instruction for student(s).
To exhibit an interest for self-improvement in signing ability, interpreting skills and to establish a better understanding of the educational process.
Present and reinforce a professional appearance at all times, in accordance with the dress code standards.Attend meetings as required, which may involve travel.Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.Ability to attend and satisfactorily complete all company education as required.Strong computer skills.
NAD (National Association of the Deaf) Certification preferred.
EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) Certification required with 3.5 score requested
Supervisory Responsibilities: There is no supervisory responsibility for this position.
