Position Summary: Provide American sign language (ASL) interpretation for clinicians, people we serve, and staff for WellPower in various settings.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $64,001.60 - $90,001.60 per year

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.

Job Duties & Functions:

• Provides ASL interpretation during various virtual and in-person meetings, conferences, trainings, and therapeutic interactions (counseling, case management) for clinical staff and the people we serve.

• Maintain adherence to the RID and NCIHC codes of professional conduct and the role of the interpreter.

• Serve as advocate and liaison between the Deaf, hard of hearing and Deaf/Blind communities and hearing providers.

• Collaborate with Impact & Engagement department to provide ideas and feedback on how to make all services inclusive for the Deaf, hard of hearing and Deafblind people we serve and staff.

• Work with providers who do not sign on best practices to ensure an inclusive and equitable experience for the Deaf, hard of hearing and Deafblind people we serve.

• Assist the Language Services Manager with trainings specific to the Deaf, hard of hearing and Deafblind community.

• Serve as back up interpreter scheduler, when needed.

• Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience of ASL interpretation.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of Deaf culture.

• Experience working with non-profit organizations, mental health or healthcare is preferred.

• Must have RID CI/CT, NIC or BEI certification or equivalent.

Work Location: This is a hybrid opportunity open to folks residing in the Greater Denver Metro area.

Shift/Hours: This is a Monday-Friday opportunity observing standard business hours with 60% of the week being on-site, while the other 40% is remote work.

Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 40 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
