Job Description
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
•
Conduct impact assessments, system design, development, testing, implementation, and post-deployment validation.
•
Design and develop solutions based on user requirements, meeting agreed timelines, quality benchmarks, and performance standards.
•
Analyze functional and technical requirements and contribute to creation of detailed solution specifications.
•
Perform hands-on development using COBOL/400, SMART/400 COBOL, and AS/400 CL, with ability to deliver independently.
•
Participate in code reviews, version control processes, and quality assessment activities.
•
Collaborate with business users, BAs, PMs, and technical stakeholders for SIT, UAT, production support, user queries, and database-related issues.
•
Plan and execute daily/monthly batch job processing activities to meet defined SLAs.
•
Monitor server logs and perform troubleshooting for production and application issues.
Technical Experience
•
COBOL/400 & SMART/400 Development (6+ yrs): Hands-on design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of COBOL/400 applications including SMART/400 within LifeAsia.
•
AS/400 CL Programming (5+ yrs): Development and support of CL programs for automation, job control, and batch execution.
•
LifeAsia Support & Enhancement (4+ yrs): Production support, defect fixes, and system enhancements for LifeAsia insurance systems.
•
Impact Analysis & Design (5+ yrs): Ability to analyze requirements and produce technical specifications.
•
Batch Job Scheduling (5+ yrs): Monitoring and troubleshooting batch processing to meet SLAs.
•
Testing & Deployment (5+ yrs): SIT, UAT, production deployment, and post-verification activities.
•
Production Troubleshooting (5+ yrs): Log analysis, issue diagnosis, and resolution on AS/400.
•
Stakeholder Collaboration (6+ yrs): Work with business, BAs, PMs, and technical teams.
•
AS/400 Server Operations (5+ yrs): Knowledge of job queues, subsystems, and libraries.
•
Technical Leadership (3+ yrs): Guidance to junior developers and ownership of deliverable
