ESADE, Department of Data Analytics, Technology and AI

The Department of Data Analytics, Technology and AI at ESADE Business School in Barcelona is seeking to appoint a full-time, research-track faculty member in Artificial Intelligence, with a research focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or quantitative methods for business research. Tenure-track (Assistant Professor) and tenured (Associate professor) options are available depending on rank.

Starting date: September 1st, 2026.

Candidates must have completed a PhD or equivalent program of study by the start date. In addition, they must demonstrate a trajectory of scholarship in the areas of specialization, and the potential and motivation to publish high-quality, impactful research in top academic AI conferences and journals in AI, management sciences, or both. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate a foundation upon which a successful teaching career can be developed across the school’s diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programs.

The position is adequate both for computer science scholars working in the sub-fields of AI and willing to make a move to a business school environment, as well as social science / management scholars with publications in AI conferences and journals. The candidate will contribute to growing the AI footprint of Esade both in research and teaching.

The Department of Data Analytics, Technology and AI at ESADE is a growing, dynamic and diverse group with professors focusing on artificial intelligence research, quantitative methodologies, and management of information systems. From the standpoint of teaching, we constantly strive to improve classroom experience and translate our research interests and findings to ideas and advice that is of practical use. This effort is aided by the school’s Centre for Educational Innovation.

ESADE, which comprises a business and a law school, is a member of Ramon Llull University. The stated mission is “to educate highly professional individuals aware of their responsibilities as national and global citizens, sensitive to issues of solidarity and social justice, and keen to engage in collective projects”, and the tagline is “do good, do better.” The school currently operates on campuses in Barcelona, Sant Cugat, and Madrid, and it has several collaboration agreements with renowned international educational institutions.

The position is for tenure-track candidates. Decisions about contract renewal and promotion are based on research, teaching, and service. The salary and teaching requirements tied to the position are competitive. Almost all teaching, and all official communications in the school are conducted in English. Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but for non-Spanish-speaking candidates language support is provided, if desired.
