About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and culturally attuned Art Director to join our marketing production agency team, working onsite with one of the world’s leading auction houses. The role will report into our onsite Account Director, with a dotted line into the client’s SVP, Head of Marketing, Communications and Client Strategy, Asia.
This role sits at the intersection of creativity, luxury, and production, overseeing and executing exceptional visual storytelling across global campaigns while ensuring regional relevance for the Hong Kong, Chinese, and wider Asian markets.
The ideal candidate is an experienced art director with a refined eye for luxury aesthetics, strong hands-on design skills, and proven experience managing complex creative projects and personalities in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership
Define and lead the visual strategy for regional marketing campaigns, ensuring a consistent, elevated brand presence across all touchpoints
Oversee art direction across photography, film, design, illustration, motion, interactive and experiential formats.
Act as a hands-on creative leader, contributing directly to key campaigns while guiding overall creative direction and standards
Campaign Development
Lead art direction for luxury lifestyle and fine art photography shoots, ensuring visual consistency across all campaign touchpoints.
Conceptualise and produce marketing deliverables across OOH, paid digital media, social, and owned channels, maintaining brand integrity and local relevance.
Design and oversee the creation of bespoke printed catalogues, invitations, and marketing materials that meet global luxury standards.
Collaborate closely with auction house specialists, photographers, stylists, copywriters, designers, and producers to bring creative concepts to life.
Ensure all creative work aligns with both global brand guidelines and regional cultural aesthetics.
Cultivate strong relationships with external creatives and production partners ensuring high-quality delivery and clear communication.
Stakeholder & Project Management
Work onsite with the client’s marketing and creative teams to understand project objectives and deliver exceptional results.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept through to final delivery, maintaining quality and timelines under tight deadlines.
Navigate a highly matrixed stakeholder environment, effectively managing expectations, feedback, and communication across teams and senior leadership.
Balance creative vision with practical execution, ensuring feasibility within production and budget parameters.
Cultural & Market Insight
Demonstrate deep understanding of the global luxury market, with particular sensitivity to Hong Kong, Mainland Chinese, and wider Asian design preferences.
Anticipate regional trends and cultural nuances to inform creative decisions that resonate with target audiences.
Ensure all creative output aligns with global brand guidelines while resonating authentically at a regional level.
Skills & Experience
7+ years’ experience in art direction or senior design roles within luxury, fashion, or premium lifestyle brands or agencies.
Proven experience in art directing photography and film shoots in a luxury context.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-end print and digital campaign work.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); experience with motion or video editing tools is a plus.
Excellent time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills, able to manage demanding clients and multiple stakeholders with professionalism and composure.
Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of luxury design sensibilities, regional aesthetic nuances, and cultural context across Asia.
