About the Role:
As Director of Hospitality Services, MotoGP, you will ensure a top-tier guest experience at all MotoGP races worldwide. This includes overseeing all hospitality services, such as venue design, catering, supplier management, budgeting, safety, staffing, and ticketing, on behalf of Dorna.
This is a Third-party Contractor role.
Core Responsibilities:
Dorna Operations Liaison:
Lead product design to define quality standards and project expectations with Dorna.
Manage supplier relationships, timelines, and project metrics to ensure readiness for races.
Guest Experience & Event Management:
Oversee hospitality services for 22+ events annually, ranging from 200 to 10,000 guests.
Ensure event planning meets the standards of both Quint and Dorna.
Manage end-to-end event processes from concept through vendor management and approvals.
Design cohesive, engaging hospitality spaces in collaboration with internal and external teams.
Oversee event logistics, including guest movement, transportation, and hotel check-ins.
Coordinate vendor selection, contracts, and delivery for services such as catering and staffing.
Ensure permits, licenses, and contracts are obtained for event delivery.
Work with internal departments to ensure smooth execution and alignment with goals.
Oversee physical and digital ticket management and fulfillment of guest orders.
On-Site Delivery:
Manage event set-up, including vendor oversight, equipment, and hospitality space arrangements.
Lead back-of-house operations and guest-facing activations, adjusting plans as needed.
Provide guest service, solving issues proactively before escalation.
Oversee tear-down activities after events.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience, improve efficiency, and elevate services.
Foster collaboration across teams, identify economies of scale, and drive improvements.
Track event successes and lessons to refine future event processes.
Leadership & Personnel Management:
Recruit, train, and manage required event staff, including full-time, part-time, and contract labor.
Lead a team of 2+ direct reports and 100+ indirect reports for event execution.
Foster collaboration across teams to ensure engagement and efficient operations.
Ensure quality standards and proper etiquette are maintained across staff.
Financial Management:
Manage the operations portion of the Dorna-provided hospitality budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
Align event budgets with sales projections, collaborating with department leaders on adjustments.
Maximize budget utilization through negotiation and internal collaboration.
Track expenses accurately and contribute to the development of event budgets.
Requirements:
Experience:
7+ years in event planning/management, with motorsport experience preferred.
Venue opening and official service provider experience preferred.
Experience managing full-time, part-time, and contract labor.
Direct experience managing budgets of $4M+ per event.
Proven track record of project management.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field.
Skills:
Proficient in Excel, CRM software, and project management tools.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate globally.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish and English required. Italian proficiency is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work long hours and weekends, with up to 30% international travel.
Must be eligible to work in Spain.
Prolonged sitting at a desk, with extended periods of standing/walking during events.
