Context
The Directorate-General is strengthening its Enterprise Architecture governance to ensure coherence, interoperability and alignment of digital initiatives with the European Commission’s IT strategy and architecture standards.
Within the Architecture team, the selected consultant will support the coordination and operation of the Architecture Board, ensuring that architectural decisions are prepared, documented and followed up in a structured and transparent manner.
The role combines architecture expertise with coordination and facilitation responsibilities, and requires a professional able to interact effectively with architects, project managers, IT teams and business stakeholders.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Architecture Governance Support
• Support the organisation and coordination of the Architecture Board
• Prepare meeting agendas, documentation and decision materials
• Ensure proper documentation and follow-up of architecture decisions and recommendations
• Coordinate the architecture review process for new initiatives and IT projects
• Maintain and update architecture governance artefacts and documentation
Enterprise Architecture Activities
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture principles, standards and guidelines
• Support alignment of IT initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture and digital strategy
• Assist in analysing and documenting current (as-is) and target (to-be) architectures
• Maintain architecture documentation and repositories
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a coordination point between architecture teams, project teams and business stakeholders
• Facilitate communication and collaboration across different IT domains
• Track architecture actions and ensure follow-up of Architecture Board decisions
• Support preparation of architecture-related reports and governance materials
Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the improvement of architecture governance processes and working practices
• Support the development and maturity of Enterprise Architecture practices within the organisation
• Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the architecture community
