Position Summary

The Architectural Technologist plays an essential role in supporting the design and construction process by creating detailed technical drawings and specifications that translate architectural concepts into buildable solutions. This individual works closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs comply with building codes, regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare architectural design drawings, site plans, floor plans, and renderings for RFP responses and new construction projects

Prepare comprehensive building design packages, including detailed drawings specifications for new buildings building renovations

Coordinate the Project design intent, client program, and specification requirements with external consultant team though all phases of the project

Participate in the preparation of standard construction details, and specifications for York Construction

Stay up to date with industry trends, construction technology, and building codes for new buildings and building renovations

Participate in external educational offerings for advancements in Building Code, Building Envelope and Construction Systems

Coordinate file sharing standards with external consultants on Autodeck Construction Cloud

What you bring to York

Degree or Diploma in Architecture and / or Architectural Technology

A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Architectural Designer or Technologist

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD with the ability to produce accurate and detailed drawings

Working knowledge of Enscape, Photoshop, and Bluebeam

Possess good written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to work within a collaborative team structure

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

Possess a good understanding of local building codes and zoning by-laws

Possess good organizational and file management skills
