Role Overview
The primary goal of the Quality Controller (QC) - Multilingual Safety Content Malay (Singapore) is to review, validate, and ensure the quality, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness of safety-related content produced by contributors.
This role focuses on enforcing project guidelines and ensuring that all deliverables meet the required linguistic, cultural, and safety standards for the target market.

Project Details:
Project Duration: Immediate until January 23 (possible extension until January 27)
Work Type: Freelance – Remote (APAC time zones only)
Work Hours:
Minimum: 20 hours per week
Maximum: 40 hours per week
Work Schedule:
Minimum of 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, OR
2 hours Monday to Friday + 10 hours over the weekend
Attendance: Reliable, consistent daily/weekly commitment is mandatory
Hourly Rate: 32 USD
Strong familiarity with Singaporean Malay cultural norms and safety issues is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
• Content Quality Review: Review text prompts, sourced images, and safety explanations created by contributors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project guidelines.
• Cultural & Linguistic Validation: Validate that content is culturally appropriate, contextually accurate, and aligned with real-world safety concerns specific to the target market.
• Guideline Enforcement: Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, annotation standards, and project instructions. Flag and correct deviations when identified.
• Translation & Adaptation Review: Review translations and adaptations (English ↔ Malay) to ensure linguistic accuracy, tone consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Feedback & Corrections: Provide clear, actionable feedback to contributors to improve content quality and consistency across submissions.
• Quality Assurance Reporting: Identify recurring issues or quality trends and escalate them as needed to support continuous improvement.

Desired Skills & Attributes:
• Strong Cultural Judgment: Ability to assess nuanced safety-related scenarios within a specific cultural and regional context.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy when reviewing content, with the ability to spot subtle linguistic, contextual, or guideline-related issues.
• Analytical & Critical Thinking: Capability to evaluate whether content truly meets safety criteria rather than superficially complying with instructions.
• Language Expertise: Excellent command of English and the target language, with strong editing and review capabilities.
• Tool Proficiency: Comfortable working with Google Drive and Google Sheets for review, tracking, and collaboration.
• Experience (Required): Prior experience in quality control, content review, data annotation QA, localization QA, or safety-related review work.

Required Fluency and Cultural Familiarity:
• Language Fluency: Native or professional (C1/C2) proficiency in English and Malay (Singapore)
• Cultural Familiarity: Strong, demonstrable understanding of cultural nuances, social norms, and real-world safety considerations relevant to Singapore, depending on the language role.
