Job Description
Zeeco is a global leader in combustion and environmental solutions, renowned for our expertise in designing, engineering, and manufacturing advanced burners, incinerators, and environmental control systems. Serving a wide array of industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation, we deliver innovative technologies that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. With more than 3,000 employees across 30+ global locations — and over 130 of them right here at our Stamford site.
Kick‑start your engineering career with a Level 3 Welding & Fabrication Apprenticeship at Zeeco Europe.
At Zeeco Europe, based in Rutland just outside Stamford, we’re growing our Manufacturing team and looking for motivated future engineers to join us on a four‑year apprenticeship programme. This is your chance to learn from industry experts, gain nationally recognised qualifications, and build a career with a global leader in combustion and environmental solutions.
Learn while you earn. You’ll combine hands‑on experience in our workshop with dedicated college training, developing real skills from day one. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team where you can be yourself, push your potential, and take pride in the work you do.
What will you be doing?
You’ll spend one day a week at college and four days in our workshop, learning how to fabricate and weld to industry standards.
Your training will include:
• Working safely at all times and following all relevant health, safety, environmental and ISO requirements.
• Preparing and planning fabrication activities using detailed engineering drawings, working with carbon steel, stainless steel and high‑nickel alloys.
• Setting up, checking and maintaining fabrication and welding equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Interpreting technical drawings, patterns and templates to produce and assemble complex fabricated components.
• Operating cutting, drilling and shaping equipment, and welding using TIG and MIG processes to meet strict quality specifications.
• Restoring your work area to a safe condition and completing all required documentation throughout each job.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll need to be:
• 18 or over by September (insurance requirement).
• GCSE‑qualified with at least four passes including Maths, English and Science, plus a relevant post‑GCSE college course.
• Genuinely hands‑on — maybe you enjoy fixing things, understanding how machines work, or getting involved in practical projects at school, home or in clubs.
• Full of initiative, adaptable, eager to learn and driven to succeed — the qualities we look for in every Zeeco recruit.
• Living within 45 minutes of our Stamford site.
If you want to build a career in engineering with a company that leads the world in what it does — and you’re ready to learn, work hard and grow — we’d love to hear from you.
