Apprentice Agricultural Mechanic

Carr Golf is Ireland’s largest and fastest-growing managed services company for the golf industry. Our Golf Course Maintenance Services (GCMS) division manages 24 courses nationwide, delivering excellence in maintenance and presentation.
Our expanding Plant & Machinery Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our extensive fleet across all courses.
Reporting to the Head of Plant & Machinery Maintenance, the Apprentice Agricultural Mechanic will:
Undertake preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of golf course equipment.
Support the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient machinery operations both on- and off-site.
Work as part of a professional and supportive team committed to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on equipment (diesel, petrol, and electric).
Maintain and service mowers, tractors, rollers, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
Complete regular servicing and mower blade sharpening.
Keep accurate maintenance records, including parts and inventory.
Train and guide team members in preventive maintenance and equipment use.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.

Academic & Other Requirements
Full driving licence.
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must be at least 16 years of age by 1st September 2025.
Successful candidates will be required to attend an interview.
Apprenticeship Programme
Practical, hands-on training with exposure to modern golf course machinery.
Leads to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agricultural Mechanics.
Trains apprentices to the highest technical standards, developing transferable skills with global career opportunities.
