Application Support Engineer

In this role, you will be joining our team as Application Support Engineer.

Role Summary:

Application support engineer is a support role who is responsible for providing suggestions and consultancy to both internal and external clients in areas where technical expertise is required by non-technical role. We investigate root of issue, incident and technical query to bring the best solution to ensure ongoing service of our system. We provide support and deliver works to help improve the development team by taking on issues and queries which interfere in development's working cycle.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and self-disciplined candidate interested in working with our multinational teams while offering a chance to develop your skills in many areas.
 

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

• Investigate and solve technical issues related to functionality, workflow, cloud services and system configuration

• Provide root cause analysis to pinpoint the underlying causes of recurring or critical issues to prevent future occurrences

• Understand LSEG technology/knowledge including architecture, cloud's micro-services and workflows of our products

• Provide guidance to customers when they have questions related to our product functionality and API Usage.

• Support product managers in technical areas to satisfy challenged business requirements

• Collaborate with development, content, customer support and operation teams to ensure smooth progression of client query and issue/incident's investigation

• Responsible for improving and documenting technical knowledge & processes around application support (using Confluence)

• Provide on-call support during late night and weekend for critical incidents

• Customers and service focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations

• An ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand work environment

• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in collaboration with other technologists at all levels

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field

• Experienced in a role which requires high problem solving and analytical skills

• Experienced with AWS Cloud services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, etc.

• Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch for investigating issues, monitoring dashboards, and alarms

• General understanding of Database and basic SQL

• Have a good understanding of REST API and OpenAPI Specification.

• Scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or other languages

• ITIL knowledge is desirable

• Strong interpersonal and proficient in English communication
