FMC is searching for talented, self-motivated professionals to work in a free-thinking culture creating the next gen premium entry EVs with the highest autonomous technologies at our Santa Clara, CA facility.

We’re looking for a maverick Android OS Specialist to join our growing team:

A. Responsibilities (essential to the position)

• Working on the full Android software stack, from underlying hardware, kernel, NDK from and frameworks. Developing cutting-edge solutions and OS optimizations to improve the performance and quality of user experiences in an automotive embedded environment (virtual or native).
• Integrate Android applications into the automotive infotainment system.
• Integrating the Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications into the embedded system.
• Collaborating with diversified team of designers, hardware engineers, computer vision and machine learning researchers.

B. Requirements:

1. Industry background:

· 5+ years of experience in C/C++/Java

· Experience with building and customizing Android OS and apps

· Experience with Android NDK

· Familiar with advanced debugging techniques under Android

· Experience with kernel development, Linux OS development

· Experience with Android OS architecture, Android system services, System UI and APIs

· Experience with multi-threaded software design, unit tests and testable code

2. Knowledge and skills:

· Strong record of innovation demonstrated through patents, papers or products

· Experience with virtualization environment

· Experience with version control tools such as Perforce, REPO, GIT

· Experience with embedded system environment and/or automotive

· A passion for exploring the new frontiers including computer vision, machine learning, virtual reality and augmented reality

3. Education / Training:

· Bachelor in Computer Science/Embedded Software/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 5+ years of work experience

· Strong presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills; fun, outgoing and easy to work with

· Self-starter able to operate with minimal supervision to achieve objectives
