What you'll do

We're looking for an Android Developer to join our Mobile Engineering team. At Clara, our mobile application is the primary touchpoint for thousands of businesses managing their finances in real-time. You will play a critical role in ensuring our Android ecosystem is scalable, performant, and delightful to use.

Ship High-Quality Features: Build and deploy user-facing features using Kotlin and the modern Android stack to solve complex financial problems.

Component Craftsmanship: Develop modular, reusable UI components using Jetpack Compose to maintain a consistent and agile design system.

Own the Quality: Take direct responsibility for the stability of the app, ensuring technical excellence through clean code and rigorous unit testing.

Manage the Release Cycle: Handle the end-to-end process of publishing and maintaining applications in the Google Play Store.

•
Collaborate via Github: Utilize Github for version control, participating in deep code reviews to maintain high engineering standards and team alignment.

•
Monitor & Optimize: Identify and resolve bugs while monitoring application performance using crash reporting tools and profiling to ensure a seamless user experience.

Who you are

Must haves

•
4+ years of professional experience in Android development, ideally within fast-paced fintech or SaaS environments.

•
Deep technical proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Jetpack libraries.

•
Proven track record of publishing and managing production-grade apps in the Google Play Store.

•
High level of comfort with Github and modern CI/CD workflows.

•
Working proficiency in English and Spanish.

•
Experience or interest in using AI tools to automate workflows and improve coding efficiency.

•
Adaptability to fast-changing environments and a strong sense of ownership over your code.

Nice to haves

•
Familiarity with modular app architecture, Clean Architecture, and dependency injection (e.g., Hilt/Dagger).

•
Experience with Databricks or Metabase for basic data visualization and performance monitoring.

•
Independent analytical skills using SQL or Python.

•
A good sense of humor.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy

Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.

We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
