This position is based at our modern laboratory in Christchurch, servicing the Canterbury (community referrals) and South Canterbury (public hospital and community referrals) regions.
As an Anatomical Pathologist at Awanui Labs - Christchurch you will be part of team of eight Pathologists providing clinical delivery and service excellence through high quality diagnostic services to our clients and patients. You will have access to state-of-the-art digital pathology scanners, on-site diagnostic immunohistochemistry with highly competent histology technical staff and a full range of diagnostic molecular testing services. You will be digitally connected to the wider Awanui group operating at our laboratories across New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced generalist Anatomical Pathologist. Experience in dermatopathology is essential. The referrals are predominantly skin, breast, gynecologic, urologic, ENT, and gastrointestinal samples. There is no autopsy pathology. A Fine Needle Aspiration clinic is provided by our pathologists on rotation; experience in FNA cytology is preferred.
You will need to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or a similar recognised overseas postgraduate qualification; and be eligible for, or working towards, vocational registration as a Specialist Pathologist by the Medical Council of New Zealand within a reasonable timeframe.
