Shift: Monday- Friday with frequent travel and some weekend travel.
The Analytical Services Manager works in conjunction with Business Units and lab operations to ensure top tier technical and scientific services are being offered and utilize technical expertise to build client relations and product offerings.   This position within Eurofins Microbiology Laboratories, Inc. is a heavy travel required position and person must be based out of one of the EML lab locations. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Assist laboratories with operational support and continuous improvement
• Technical expert on enumeration and core pathogen detection/strain differentiation platforms such as PCR, ELISA as well as confirmation processes
• Assessment technical expert researching and vetting new products and services from microbiology vendors
• Technical liaison between Eurofins Microbiology laboratories, Sales Managers and Clients (target and existing)
• Create and configure test codes for use in the microbiology lab
• Localize test codes for use in the microbiology lab, both as a performer and seller
• Assist in training initiatives at both corporate and lab specific level
• Advise and assist US Food labs on technical issues related to projects, bids and other issues.
• Identify unique capabilities within Food Business Unit operations and facilitate the distribution of those capabilities throughout company
• Assist Eurofins operations with customer interactions to maintain Customer satisfaction
• Work with lab operations to improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units, in order to facilitate the resolution of technical issues affecting client satisfaction and emerging opportunities
• Reviews and approves COA’s prior to client delivery
• Work closely with Eurofins microbiologists, Auditing, Marketing/Sales and client services to develop ideas, and review of presentations
• Work closely with Corporate quality on training initiatives, CAPA/RCA training and assistance for the laboratories
• Attend and lead meetings with key clients, at all levels and develop an in depth knowledge of customer requirements through regular meetings
• Act as a liaison to strengthen ties between Eurofins US operations and worldwide operations
• Make sure that cross-selling synergies with other Eurofins laboratories are being developed
• Assist in building consulting program through technical reviews of programs and assist with inspections/client visits
• In coordination with the management of the Business Units, develop strategies to achieve and/or expand market leadership in the US, while reaching and/or maintaining the required level of profitability. Identify new markets for our existing services and new services that we can offer to our existing clients
• Work closely with  Sales & Marketing team and Business Unit to keep them appraised of pending developments in the markets
• Work with quality to develop training metrics and materials for new employees and annual reverification training
• Work with quality to assist laboratories‘ preparation for ISO 17025, client and regulatory audits
• Maintain active profile in various professional organizations
• Attend trade shows and make  presentations  at trade  shows and professional society meetings.
• Remain current on technical activities representing potential business opportunities for Eurofins through active participation in work groups and seminars
• Prepare and submit an End of the Month report each month
• Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and staff
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
• BS degree in science field with 4+ years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
• At least 2 to 3 years directly experience in food microbiology testing
• Previous leadership experience is a plus
• Requires extensive domestic travel: ~60-70% of the time
• 3-5 Years experience in eLIMS (Eurofins Laboratory Information Management Systems)
• Exercise sound judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Requires attention to details and good documentation skills
• Must have computer (Word, Excel) and office related skills
• General science and/or chemistry coursework preferred
• Project Management experience desirable
