Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Credit Department, the Credit Analyst will be responsible for evaluating automotive financing applications from individual customers, optimizing decision-making (speed and quality), preventing fraud, and ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering a smooth and efficient experience to partner dealerships.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze submitted applications, including identity, income, employment stability, credit history, outstanding debts, debt-to-income ratios, and repayment capacity.
Assess vehicle collateral: market value, loan-to-value (LTV), mileage, model year, wear and tear, and accident history reports.
Identify fraud indicators (document inconsistencies, falsified pay stubs, address discrepancies, contract manipulation, straw buyers, etc.).
Apply risk policies: approval thresholds, pricing matrices based on credit score and term, maximum advances, down payments, and guarantees.
Recommend deal structures: loan term, down payment, co-borrower, ancillary products, etc.
Communicate with dealership partners (F&I teams) to clarify and complete files, accelerate approval cycles, and improve funding ratios.
Document decisions (notes, justifications, supporting documents) and participate in post-funding reviews (verifications and quality audits).
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in financing, administration, or a related field.
Bilingual: English and French.
2 to 5+ years of experience in consumer credit; automotive finance experience is an asset.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong verification rigor.
Proficiency with computer tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
