About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)
Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) is a workplace assessment program that helps internationally trained family physicians who have completed postgraduate training and independent practice in family medicine or as a general practitioner outside Canada, a fast-tracked pathway to begin working in Ontario. Funded by the Government of Ontario, Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Medical Council of Canada, and others to administer the PRO program.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Program Implementation, the PRO Analyst will play a key role in the design and development of the Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) program. This role will provide analytical support for the implementation of various projects within the PRO program with a focus on:
Program enhancement design and implementation
Process redesign and operational efficiency
Technology and AI adoption and optimization
Data analytics, reporting and performance measurement
In addition to the accountabilities outlined below, the Analyst may be assigned to other high priority activities, opportunities, risks or resource gaps that require dedicated support.
Key Accountabilities
Program Design & Implementation
Conduct analysis, research and evaluate options to support PRO expansions (e.g., development of new pathways, eligibility criteria, assessment delivery models)
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Clinical Leads, internal teams and other stakeholders to design pathways and document detailed requirements
Develop recommendations, presentations and other meeting materials for committee meetings with external partners (Ministry of Health, Ontario Health and CPSO)
Support planning and implementation for PRO enhancement initiatives: develop project plans / workback schedules, monitor key milestones and risks, and provide status updates
Process Redesign & Operational Efficiency
Conduct current state analysis and evaluate business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement (e.g., candidate screening, site recruitments, payments)
Gather data and requirements from key policies and stakeholders to inform process design
Leverage the use of technology and automation to optimize business processes and performance
Lead the development of process design, documentation and change management/communication to key stakeholders
Draft and revise internal policies to ensure they are relevant and compliant with legal requirements and organization objectives
Work across the organization to ensure effective implementation of operational policies, processes and workflows.
Technology and AI Adoption and Optimization
Collaborate with Touchstone’s IT team to:
Gather and translate business needs into clear technical and process requirements for system improvements and new tools
Assess current technologies and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization
Document business processes, requirements, and user stories to support effective solution design and delivery
Participate in user acceptance testing of technology solutions
Monitor post implementation performance, gather feedback, and recommend refinements to improve system usability and effectiveness
Data Analytics, Reporting and Performance Measurement
Gather requirements for PRO Program Dashboard including the development of a reporting framework and key performance indicators (KPI)
Develop, track and evaluate KPI to measure operational performance, processes and plan internal team capacity
Collect and analyze complex data from multiple sources on PRO program to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to program delivery
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing key findings, trends, and recommendations
Position Requirements
Analytical, strategic thinker with a passion for healthcare systems innovation
Well-developed critical thinking skills to identify key issues and propose options for program enhancements and operational efficiencies
Understanding of the respective roles of all the key organizations (e.g., regulatory bodies, provincial Ministries, professional associations, etc.) is a nice to have
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, mapping processes, and supporting technology enabled improvements.
Familiarity with change management principles, including engagement, communication planning, and user adoption support.
Advanced written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and informatively
Ability to evaluate and support implementation of technology solutions in collaboration with IT partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy, healthcare management or related field.
3+ years of experience in analysis, process redesign, or policy-driven roles —preferably in healthcare or public sector.
Strong analytical skills and proficient in gathering business requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
Proven project management and organizational skills.
