The salary range for this role is $70,000 up to $85,000CAD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)
Join our dynamic team within Risk & Financial Management, Global Corporate Banking (Capital Markets), where we manage and optimize credit risk, capital, and financial resources to support strong business performance and ensure the resilience of our corporate lending portfolio. As a Junior Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting portfolio analytics, risk monitoring, and capital analysis by leveraging advanced data extraction, transformation, and analytical techniques, helping turn complex data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, enhance reporting capabilities, and strengthen overall risk management practices.
- Produce and enhance portfolio monitoring reports (exposures, concentrations, migration trends, key risk metrics).
- Analyze and interpret data trends and portfolio movements.
- Develop automated reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Extract and manipulate large datasets using SQL, SAS, Python and advanced tools.
- Apply advanced Excel (VBA)
- Maintain repeatable, well‑documented data‑extraction pipelines that improve reliability, auditability, and traceability of analytics.
- Leverage AI-supported tools to improve data analysis, automate routine tasks, and enhance the efficiency of portfolio reporting.
- Support analysis of regulatory capital and risk metrics.
- Deliver data-driven insights and respond to ad hoc requests.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is required, as the role involves communication with stakeholders across both languages.
- 0–2 years of experience or internships
- Advanced Excel (VBA)
- SQL /SAS (required)
- Python
- Data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
You're fluent in French and English to support business operations outside the province of Quebec.
Salary:
$45,500.00 - $84,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
