The successful applicant will join BMO’s leading global Metals & Mining Corporate Banking franchise, supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of corporate lending transactions and the ongoing management of sector‑focused credit relationships. The role involves close collaboration with internal product partners to deliver integrated financial solutions and support select initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
• Financial analysis, constructing financial models and/or reviewing company-created financial models and performing debt-sizing analysis and downside sensitivities
• Support the origination, structuring, and execution of corporate lending transactions
• Processing client requests (e.g. new credit facilities and extensions and/or amendments to existing credit facilities) and preparing internal credit documentation, including applications and memoranda
• Prepare client pitch materials and participate in client presentations
• Conduct due diligence on new and existing clients, including analysis of business models, industry trends, and regulatory considerations
• Monitor client performance and industry developments to assess potential impacts on credit risk
• Support internal product teams to identify and support cross‑sell opportunities (e.g. foreign exchange, commodity derivatives, cash management, trade finance, etc.)
• Provide analytical insights to deal teams and support strategic initiatives
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide guidance and mentoring to Analysts, where applicable
• Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks, internal controls, and compliance requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
• 3–4 years of relevant experience with a post‑secondary degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
• Strong academic background; MBA, CFA, or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of capital markets, corporate lending products, and applicable regulations
• Experience in the Metals & Mining sector preferred
• Advanced quantitative, financial modeling, and credit analysis skills
• High proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Able to work independently on complex assignments and exercise sound judgment
• Highly motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
• Collaborative team player with strong relationship‑building skills
This role is expected to be primarily office-based (minimum of four days a week) to ensure meaningful time spent in the office for collaboration and connection based on the expectations of your business group and role, along with some time spent working remotely.
Base Salary Range: $95,000.00- 130,000.00 CAD

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
