Job Summary
This position provides subject matter expertise to the Multi-Domain Effects Division within the Space Security and Defense Program in the area of systems engineering and model-based systems engineering. The role supports the planning, analysis, integration, and execution of advanced space and multi-domain capabilities in support of national security objectives. The candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, military services, and interdisciplinary technical teams to assess emerging threats, evaluate operational concepts, and support capability development across space, cyber, and related domains. This position requires the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable recommendations for leadership. Work is performed onsite in Reston, VA, within a fast-paced, mission-focused, classified environment.
Essential Job Functions
Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert
Implement and Apply Model-Based System Engineering to an organization lacking in the same
Skills and/or knowledge in multiple of the following areas:
Project Management
Military Requirements (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Space Force)
Space Architectures
DOTMLPF-P
RF Systems
Electro-Optical/Infrared Systems
Technology transition and fielding
Wargaming
Modeling and Simulation
Material Sciences
Will oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
Should have the ability to understand complex cost, schedule, and performance data, and make simple, actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of action
Written documentation and briefing of essential job functions
Qualifications
A relevant MS or ME degree minimum. Preferred a PhD
Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant DoD/IC or relevant industry experience with no less than five (5) years’ experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment
TS clearance with SCI eligibility required
Must be self-starter, able to take initiative, work independently and recognize management issues that need to be elevated
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel)
Efficient and accurate work output
Good documentation, writing, and reporting skills
Must be able to multi-task and maintain deadline punctuality during pressurized situations
