ConeTec is seeking experienced Amphibious Excavator Operators to join mining operations in Peru and Chile on a FIFO rotation basis, with all travel between home country and site fully covered by the company.
If you have experience operating amphibious or pontoon-mounted excavators in a mining environment — tailings dam management, flooded pit areas, waterway management, or similar, this is an opportunity to work on technically demanding international projects with a professional crew and competitive remuneration.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Operate amphibious or pontoon-mounted excavators (e.g. Wilco, Watermaster, Remu pontoon, or similar) safely in aquatic and semi-aquatic environments
Execute dredging, slurry management, sediment removal, or tailings dam maintenance tasks as directed
Conduct daily pre-start checks and minor maintenance; complete condition reports
Comply with site health, safety, and environmental protocols
Collaborate with site supervisors, hydrologists, and ground crew
Maintain accurate operating logs and report anomalies promptly
Execute rescue operation tasks of auxiliary machinery
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 3 years operating amphibious or pontoon-mounted excavators
Demonstrated experience in mining, dredging, or heavy civil environments
Equipment operator certification or equivalent
Availability for extended rotations away from home
Physical fitness for remote, demanding field environments
Valid passport and ability to obtain a work visa for Peru and/or Chile
OTHER DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Specific experience with tailings dam or floating conditions operations
Conversational English, Spanish or Portuguese (preferred but not required)
Mining safety induction certificate
First Aid certification
