AML Manager MI & Data specialist

This leader should possess the ability to maintain maximum flexibility in managing  key business initiatives driven by the overall priority of strengthening the bank’s AML Program, delivering robust management information, analytics and technology-driven solutions. The role focuses on enhancing reporting, automating MI processes and providing meaningful insights to senior management to support regulatory compliance, risk oversight and operational effectiveness.

The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Bank Trust one of the biggest custodian in the world and forms a core component of our Global AML Center. By overseeing KYC reviews and a range of essential AML activities, this position ensures our onboarding processes are robust, efficient, and compliant. We are seeking a data analyst and MI expert who can lead the team in managing end-to-end onboarding, while collaborating closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and vendors. This expertise is essential for advancing data governance, optimizing processes, and delivering reliable management information and analytics, all of which are vital for maintaining regulatory compliance and strengthening our overall AML/KYC framework.

What you will be responsible for

As AML/KYC MI & Technology Officer you will:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance AML/KYC dashboards and MI reports using Power BI, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory relevance.
• Automate AML/KYC reporting processes using MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA/macro coding) and Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Perform data analysis on KYC onboarding, periodic reviews, transaction monitoring, alerts, and quality assurance metrics.
• Prepare senior management and governance presentations using PowerPoint, translating complex AML/KYC data into clear, concise insights.
• Ensure MI aligns with regulatory expectations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
• Partner with AML, Compliance, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to understand data requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose reporting solutions.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and management reviews by providing accurate MI and analytical insights.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, controls, and reporting standards within the AML/KYC framework.
• Lead or support initiatives related to MI standardization, automation, and digitization across AML/KYC processes.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to analysts and team members on MI best practices and technical tools.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

• Power BI expertise, including data modelling, DAX, and dashboard development.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VBA/macro coding and complex data analysis.
• Python for data manipulation, automation, and analytical tasks (e.g., pandas, numpy).
• Strong understanding of AML/KYC concepts, workflows, and key risk indicators (KRIs).
• Experience producing MI for senior management, governance forums, and regulators.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and control.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

• Evidence of strong communication & influencing skills - ability to clearly communicate complex issues to both senior / executive management and a team of junior specialists
• Strong presentation skills including experience in face-to-face presentations to senior management
• Problem solving ability

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Graduate degree preferred
• Minimum of 07-10 years relevant work experience with AML, KYC, internal control, Risk Reporting  (added advantage)
• Client-oriented, with significant experience in managing global stakeholders
• Self-directed,  ability to multi-task and navigate competing priorities
• Problem-solving and critical analysis experience, highly responsive and driven
• Excellent collaboration, communication, presentation and networking skills
• Ability to identify and present cross-sell opportunities & standardizations, excellent influencing skills
• Innovative, intellectually curious, with a bias for action
• Significant prior financial services industry experience preferred
